Merry Christmas

When you are newly married without kids Christmas is just, well another Holiday. Kids make Christmas so magical and so much fun! Lexie has been so excited and has loved everything about the holiday season. Ryan and I have watched so many Christmas shows that we really could just about slit our wrists. Lexie really loves the old shows like Rudolph and Santa Claus is coming to town. This year she has been really excited about Santa Claus. One night we were sitting in the basement watching television. The wind was blowing really hard and she decided that the noises she was hearing was just Santa coming down the fireplace. I was really surprised because I hadn't talked to her about that. She most have figured it out from all the shows she had been watching. The week of Christmas was really busy we went to the Moedl Christmas party on the 23rd. We had a really nice time. Lexie loved her aunt Kelley and couldn't get enough of the attention she payed to her. Santa even showed up and spoiled all of us. Lexie loved sitting on his lap and Preslie wouldn't have anything to do with him. Ryan believes its because I tortured her at the mail by making her take a picture with him. He can believes what ever he would like. Of course Christmas Eve was spent at Grandma Nielsen's house with lots of food and the Christmas Pageant. Lexie dressed up as an Angel and lasted about 5 seconds. I was able to get a picture. She's not much of an actress, Ryan and I were really banking on that. I guess we will have to pray Preslie has some talent. Santa did come to our house, believe me I had my doubts. Its amazing the fighting that goes on between a 3 year old and 1 year old girl. He left way too many presents for the girls. I have no idea were we will put everything. Grandma Whitten and Pete came over and watched the girls open presents. Then we loaded up and went to Grandma Moedl's house for the day. Wow, I am exhausted just by reminiscing about the holiday! We can't wait for next year.

She wore herself out and snuggled with Grandpa Brett. He even got her asleep. He ruined it by getting too hot and waking her up only to blame her of peeing on him. Not really what happened, too bad cause it would have made for some good laughs!!

Lexie riding her scooter Santa brought her. This is the only present she wanted from Santa. She picked it out of a Target Magazine the first part of November and was persistent that was what she wanted. I'm really glad its not like the bike the easter bunny brought her. She can at least ride her scooter.
Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen stopped by late Christmas night to see what Santa had brought us! It was a great day, we got to see all 3 of our grandmas in 1 day. That doesn't happen too often.

Deck the Halls

For the first time ever I actually had help putting up the Christmas tree. That may be an exaggeration, I'm sure I've had help a few times. This year I am certain that I had the best help I could have asked for. Lexie was there the entire time helping me pull everything out of the boxes. She was so Excited!!! She loved her ornaments and couldn't wait to hang each of them on the tree. Preslie napped through most of the decorating. She did catch the end of our efforts and was also a great asset.

Happy Thanksgiving

This year I was on call for the hospital so we stayed home and I tried to cook my first Thanksgiving dinner. One word DISASTROUS, OK maybe it wasn't that bad but the day did not go like I had visioned. Both girls got really hungry and really cranky and wanted to eat, but dinner just wasn't ready!! So we rushed things. The gravy was horrible, the turkey was well really moist and I thought it looked a little pink. So I spent the whole day worrying that we would all end up in the ER with food poisoning. None of got sick so I guess it was fine! Due to all of the chaos the camera didn't get pulled out. Maybe that's the number 1 reason the holiday was DISASTROUS, NO PICTURES!

A Minnie Mouse BiRtHdAy PaRtY!!

There was no better way to celebrate Lexie's 3rd birthday and Preslie's 1st birthday than to have one BIG Minnie Mouse Themed PARTY!!!! Grandma Nielsen was nice enough to allow us to have it at her house. It was a good thing we did because we had 46 people there. My small little house would have burst at the seams. I was really ambitious (at least thats what I would call it) and attempted to make my first fondant cake. It took all day and most of the night. It turned out alright for my first attempt. I don't think I will ever do it again. Both girls were spoiled rotten. Lexie tore through her presents like a mad woman. Preslie would have been happy with the first two she opened. She was most satisfied with the her cupcake, she was in HEAVEN!

Today Lexie got ready to go, I really don't know where but she was ready. She had her cell phone, purse, backpack and you can't forget her necklaces.

Play Time

These are the moments you just want to cherish. They are the simpler ones where your just hanging out having fun.

Yard Work

With the warm weather comes the daunting task of YARD WORK. Ryan and I have too much of it to do and with the kids it becomes an even BIGGER task. So what do you do with the baby? I have found the high chair works great, we strap it on the back of the 4-wheeler and away we go. I thought Preslie looked so cute I had to share these pictures.

Tramp Time

I found a really good deal on a tramp back in April. Lexie has been so excited about it. Unfortunately it has been too cold to really enjoy it. This spring has been unusually cold and wet. Which has about killed Miss Lex, she's ready to get out and play. Well it finally has happened it really feels like summer and both girls got to go enjoy their tramp. Dally even came over and they put a sprinkler underneath. WHOOT, WHOOT, we love SUMMER!

Lexie's First Hair Cut

Aunt Lacie came down for a visit so I had her bring her scissors. Lexie's hair was ready for its first trimming. It was probably ready a long time ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to cut it. Lexie was so big, she sat very still for Lacie. I think she liked the attention.

All The ways she sleeps

Lexie is a CRAZY sleeper. I never wake in the morning to find her in the same position, or should I say head at the top of the bed and feet at the bottom. She's usually side-ways or up-side down or halfway off the bed. She loves to look at books and I found her asleep clutching to her Marley book. What a sweetheart.

Watch Out She's going to be MOBILE

Preslie is working on crawling she just can't wait to be big enough to follow her big sister around. I am torn I realy like that I can leave her in the living room and I know she'll be there when I get back. Yet I think she'd be a happy girl if she could get around. It's coming I know here shortly she'll be all over the place. My how fast she's GROWN.
