Preslie's Two Month Check Up

Yesterday we took Preslie in for her two month checkup. She is growing and developing right on track. Her weight was 9 lb 14 oz. putting her in the 50th percentile. She, however, is in the 70th percentile for length, measuring 22 1/2 inches long. That was a surprise, we don't know were she gets that from! Both girls did really well at the Doctors office. Dr. Blake blew up a latex glove and gave it to Lexie she thought that was pretty cool. She giggled and laughed and threw it around the exam room while we waited. When we left she was sure to tell everyone bye. Then as we walked out she said, "Fun!" I never would have believed that Lexie would call a Doctors office fun. I think she thought it was great that Preslie was the one getting picked on.

So how do my girls compair at two months?

Lexie Weight: 9 lbs Preslie Weight: 9 lbs 14 oz

Can You See Her?

One of the perks of being an ultrasound tech is you get to do your own ultrasounds whenever you'd like. Bingham had purchased a new 4D machine right around the time that I had found out that I was expecting. I was so excited for Preslie to get big so I could see her little face. With 2D ultrasounds you can see a babies face pretty good at around 20 weeks. Preslie was laying just right that every time I scanned myself I could see her profile and also her little nose and lips. 4D scans are more involved and there is no way I could do one on myself. I felt like I had already seen Preslie well enough times with 2D that there was no need to bother someone for the 4D. We had a patient come in and her 4D ultrasound was so good that I couldn't resist. Darrin one of my co-workers scanned me and we got the best view of my baby girl. I was able to see her open and close her mouth and we even caught her sticking out her tongue. I was so glad that I didn't miss the opportunity to see her that way! Now looking back at the ultrasound pictures I believe they look just like her.

Family Vacation or Daddy Vacation?

A trip to Moab Utah to ride bikes, I think would classify as a vacation for a man. Regardless, we will call it a Family Vacation because it's as close as we're going to get this year! Besides we couldn't turn down a good invitation. So we loaded up the car and away we went. It was a lot of fun mainly because of the good company. We went with my brother Chad and his family and my younger brother Shawn. The first day there Lexie and I ventured out on a short 4-Wheeler ride while Aunt Kay followed behind us with Preslie in the truck. Other than that us girls hung out at the condo, except of course to go shopping. Lexie had a lot of fun, she loved being able to hang out with her older cousins. Especially because Mikki and Jess took her swimming. Before we had left for our trip I had told Lexie that we would take her swimming. Well on our ride she kept telling me that she wanted to go swimming. What a little TWIT! Ryan got to do plenty of bike riding. He complained a few times about sore muscles so he must of got his fill. Moab is beautiful and someday I would love to go back and be able to explore some of the trails.

Terrible Twos Are Made Official, Lexie Has A Birthday!

Lexie's birthday this year lasted almost all week! Her birthday landed on Thanksgiving this year. She was only able to open a couple of gifts on her official birthday, one from her mom and dad, and another from Aunt Mindi (and Uncle Jeff). I don't know how but Mindi always knows exactly what to buy Lexie. This year she gave her a Hannah Montana doll. Lexie loves it! She carries it around, saying "Hannah," when she can't find her she puts her arms up in the air and says, "where's Hannah?" Its not that she likes Hannah Montana but its because her favorite babysitter is named Hannah. We waited to open the rest of her gifts a few days later and had a small party with family and friends. Lexie owes her Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen a huge Thank You for helping her Mom pull it off. When you have a newborn and a two year old in your home you never have enough time to get things done. My days prior to the party just didn't work out as planned. Needless, the Sunday of her party I had a long list of things that had to be done. Our house was a mess, the cake was only half finished, the gifts weren't wrapped and I still needed to make Soup and Sandwiches. I had almost decided to call everyone to tell them the party was canceled. After Church with just 3 hours to spare I called my parents in frustration. They rushed down and we were able to get everything ready. Lexie was spoiled by everyone. The next couple of days she walked around telling me she had a birthday!

Halloween Party

You know your Crazy when..... you attend a Halloween Party 3 days after having a C-Section. At the time I didn't realize how crazy, or stupid I was, but I had the costumes all ready and I didn't want to miss Julie's Party.

Sisters

I was so worried about Lexie and how she would handle haveing a new little sister around. After we left the hospital we picked her up, she got in the car and immediately said, "baby." When we got home she wouldn't let us unload her until she was certain that Preslie was coming in the house with us. Their intial meeting was so cute. Lexie was so careful and curious about her new sister.

Meet Preslie Ryan Williams

On October 27 our sweet baby girl, Preslie Ryan Williams, was born. She weighed in at 7 lbs 7 oz. and measured 20 inches. She was born at 38 weeks, and I was more than ready to deliver her. I guess I expected to have her at 37 weeks like I did with Lexie and I was sick and tired of being pregnant. I convinced my doctor to induce me. I was so excited to meet her for the first time. The night before her birth I could not sleep at all. I laid awake for awhile and at 1 o'clock I decided to get up and read. As soon as I got settled down and engrossed in the book the power went out. I was so upset and so worried that I wouldn't be able to shower in the morning and that I wouldn't be able to get the car out of the garage. Or even worse I thought they might cancel the induction. Finally at around 4 o'clock the power came back on. I still couldn't sleep. So with little sleep I headed in to the hospital. I drove myself so Ryan could stay home and get Lexie ready to go to Jodie's for the day. When I got to the hospital they started my induction at around 10 o'clock my water spontaneously broke the labor was progressing nicely I thought things would be smooth sailing from there. Boy, was I wrong! After two epidurals and an emergency c-section I was finally able to see my baby girl. She was perfect. We only got a few pictures at the hospital. I think probably due to the stress of the day and the fact that the only visitor that we had come to the hospital was Grandma Nielsen. The hospital had restricted visitors because of the flu season so I had told everyone to wait until we got home. Our hospital stay was only a day long because there was no more room left in the inn.

Support Issues!

Lexie and I had just taken a shower. I had gotten her part way dressed and was in my room getting ready. When I came out this is how I found her. She wore it around for a while, I finally had to take it away and she cried. I don't know why, but I don't think she's quite ready for a bra!

Fall Pictures

I decided I wanted to take some cute fall pictues of Lexie. So we headed up buckskin in Pocatello to try to get some with the changing leaves. Lexie wouldn't have it and didn't want anything to do with it. Anyone who knows my Lex probably finds it hard to believe that this sweet girl wouldn't cooperate with her mother. Well, She was her true self and cried. In frustration I loaded her up and went for help. Jodie rescued us she was able to get Lexie to sweeten up a bit. These are the final results.

Pumpkin Patch

Lexie and I joined the Ricks Family this year to go pick out a pumpkin while Ryan was out hunting. It makes me smile every time Lexie sees a pumpkin she gets all excited and yells "PUMPKIN," she pronounces it so cute. We bought two big pumpkins, but never carved them. I was just way too lazy this year! I guess I had a good excuse. I guess being pregnant isn't all bad.
